What happens if it rains or there is bad weather at my outdoor concert? Are your mobile LED video walls and screens weather dependent?

Rain is not a problem for our outdoor rated LED screens.  Wind exceeding a certain speed (usually 45mph, depending the equipment used) can be a concern which is why we insist on a full-time technician to be onsite for your setup and event.  With that in mind, our mobile and modular screens are suitable for all types of outdoor conditions – rain or shine! 

Because LED screens emit light, meaning they are the light source, the images displayed on the screens are brighter, with more vibrant color. Modular and mobile LED screens offer higher resolution, making them ideal for indoor events such as concerts, conventions, political rallies, trade shows, etc. And, since they are built to handle weather, they’re perfect for outdoor events such as air shows, concerts, renaissance festivals, sporting events, TV and movie shoots.

That being said, both options offer great resolution for maximum visibility.

Our small walls can be built anywhere space is an issue because all parts of the screen and support will fit through standard doors and into passenger elevators. The outdoor rated modular screen is built from 20” square panels so it can be scaled to fit most any event. Absen Polaris PL3.9pro is a premium product, when quality matters!

Not all mobile LED screens are created equal. Besides the obvious big vs small screen size, jumbotron rental companies offer many variations including pixel pitch or resolution, trim height (distance from the bottom of the screen to the ground) and screen rotatability.  The amount of support the client receives once the screen is delivered will also affect the price. All our mobile 10’x17’ LED screens feature 3.9mm pixel pitch for a true HD 1280×768 image, are fully rotatable and come with a full-time onsite technician to insure a flawless execution. Our screens’ trim height is from 3’ to 15’ depending on the equipment used.

Pixel pitch or spacing. The gold standard for outdoor LED screens is 3.9mm. This ensures a beautiful crisp image any distance.
 
Brightness. For outdoor use, the screen must have a brightness of at least 4500 nits to compete (and win!) against the sun. For indoor and evening use the display must be fully dimmable, so its brightness doesn’t wash out the stage or décor lighting.
 
Contrast Ratio. Just as important as brightness, contrast ratio is the perceived difference between the brightest and darkest parts of an image. Our Absen panels feature a contrast ratio of 7500:1
 
Black-body LEDs. The black-body LEDs used in the Absen PL3.9pro reduces the amount of sunlight that reflects off the screen.  This also helps with the contrast ratio (see above).
Refresh Rate. The refresh rate of LED displays can vary from several hundred Hz to 3840Hz. Our Absen Polaris PL3.9pro panels have a video refresh rate of 3840 Hz which is the video industry standard for a flicker-free HD LED display.
